Many districts are seeking “Google Experts” to provide professional development. Google Certification is similar to Microsoft or Apple certifications. Here are three reasons to becoming Google Certified.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Do I need to attend a Certification Academy to get certified?” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]No. The Certification academy is a program designed to support individuals seeking certification, but is not required. The complete process for becoming a Google Eduction Trainer is outlined here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What do I need to do to become certified?” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]Google offers five different certifications for educators. Each certification requires successful completion of a certification exam.  The entire process is outlined here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Do I need to pay for the exams?” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]Yes, the exams are range in price from $15 (level 1) up to $100 (certified administrator). The costs and process for certification is outlined here.

The cost of the exams is not included included in the Google Certification Academy and must be purchased directly from Google.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the cost of the Academy?” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]The Google Certification Academy is $299/person which includes two days of instruction, lunch, continuing education credits (when available), loads of certification resources and ongoing support through the gEducator support community.

The Certification Academy and Admin Bootcamp can be offered at no cost to the host school. Hosts will receive complimentary registrations which they can offer to teachers within the school / district. Details are available here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Will I be Google Certified by attending the GCA?” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]Not quite. The Google Certification Academy will prepare you for the Google Certification Exams, but you will need to take the exam(s) on your own. Most attendees are able to complete the level 1 exam immediately following the academy.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Are continuing education credits available?” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]The availability of continuing education credits will vary by location. In most instances, continuing education credits are available. A small fee is charged to those wishing to apply for continuing education credits and is not covered in the academy registration. The Google Certification Academy is facilitated by experienced educators and certified trainers. Each trainers has completed the certification process and can provide first hand experience using these tools in their classroom with their students.

Not only you will receive “Content knowledge” that will equip participants to pass the required Google Exams, you will also gain “Practical knowledge” that will equip you to integrate these tools into your classroom.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Do I have to Attend all of the sessions?” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]Session attendance is voluntary. You will be treated as a highly skilled professional at the certification academy; your participation and attendance is up to you. Every effort has been made to ensure that the information and activities which comprise the certification academy are engaging, practical, and helpful. We hope you will come and we hope you will enthusiastically participate!

Some important notes on attendance:

  • Continuing education credits will be impacted by non-attendance.
  • Refunds are not available for non-attendance.
  • Registration discounts based on partial attendance are not available.

John and his team of Google Certified Trainers created this program to help educators become Google Educators. The content of the Academy is based off of Google’s requirements as well as a deep knowledge of the use of technology in the classroom.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the daily schedule for the GCA? ” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]Google Certification Academy Schedule:

  • Registration and light breakfast – 8-8:30
  • Morning Session: 8:30 – 11:30
  • Lunch: 11:30 – 12:30
  • Afternoon Session: 12:30-3:30

The daily schedule can vary slightly according to the needs of the host district. Check the registration page for each academy to confirm the start and end times.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Who should attend a Certification Academy?” no_indents=””][vc_column_text]The Google Certification Academy is designed for teachers who are regular, daily users of Google products in their classroom. You should be comfortable with Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Sites, and the Chrome web browser. Teachers, Instructional Techs, Media Specialist, Administrators, and IT personnel are encouraged to attend.

The Google Admin Bootcamp is designed for IT Directors and staff who manage the Google Admin Console.
